New York-based Wellspringhas picked up all North American rights to Live Freaky! Die Freaky!, astop-motion animation musical-comedy retelling of the Manson family murders.

The action takes place inthe year 3069 when a man discovers a copy of Helter Skelter, VincentBugliosi and Curt Gentry's true crime classic detailing the Charles Manson cultand the murders he inspired his acolytes to commit.

Interpreting the book assomething akin to a biblical tome, the man declares Manson the Messiah andurges his own followers to live a better life through "music, murder, andmayhem."

John Roecker directed and aroster of rock stars provided the voice talent, led by Green Day's Billie JoeArmstrong as the lead, Rancid/Operation Ivy's Tim Armstrong, and Asia Argento.The project is the first from Armstrong's production company Hellcat Pictures.

Wellspring will premiere thefilm theatrically as a midnight engagement in major North American markets in the first quarter of2006, followed immediately by release on DVD and various music formats.

Wellspring's head ofacquisitions Marie Therese Guirgis negotiated the deal with Peter Paterno andJeff Silberman of King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner on behalf of Roecker andArmstrong.
