UK-based sales agent HanWay has boarded The Squid And The Whale, the quirky New York comedy being produced by Wes Anderson, the director behind Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums.

Bill Murray, Laura Linney and John Turturro are in advanced talks to star in the $8.5m story of an eccentric family, which is now in pre-production. Noah Baumbach, who first made his mark with 1995's Kicking And Screaming, is directing from his own script and Anderson is producing with Peter Newman, whose credits include Smoke and Blue In The Face.

The production re-unites several of the crew from Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums, including director of photography Robert Yeoman. Shooting is scheduled for early next year in Brooklyn.
