French sales house Exception Wild Bunch is set to take overWild Side Video and Wild Side Films from embattled distributor Bac Majestic.

Bac is ceding its ownership of the two labels following itstakeover by French animation and documentary house Millimages.

Wild Side Video distributes films from Bac, Wild Bunch andWild Side Films, as well as its own acquisitions such as Cedric Khan's FeuxRouges.

Wild Side Films specialises in older films to be re-releasedlike Orson Welles' Macbeth and Brian DePalma's Sisters. Recentacquisitions include A Tale Of Two Sisters by Kim Jee Woon.

Wild Side Video will continue to release films from Bac aswell as adding Millimages productions to its roster. Productions from Wild SideFilms in turn will continue to be released theatrically by Bac.

Bac's takeover by Millimages was recently ratified andwill see Millimages pump cash into the ailing group's coffers and takemajority control of Bac by May 20. Bac founder Jean Labadie will remain at thehelm according to Roch Lerner, owner of Millimages.

The moves help to complete what has been a difficult cyclefor Bac following the dissolution of its output deal with Miramax, a break withinvestor StudioCanal, unsuccessful bids to move into exhibition and a downturnin the market.
