Directors Michael Winterbottom, Patrice Chereau and Mika Kaurismaki and Isabelle Coixet as well as producer Nik Powell - in his new incarnation as the UK's National Film & Television School chief - are among the speakers recruited by the European Film Academy (EFA) for its conference "Let's Talk About Content!" to be held on the morning of December 6 before the European Film Awards in Berlin.

Bringing established filmmakers together with film school professors and students "to discuss the training of future filmmakers in artistic, cultural and social skills", the event will focus on "the complexities of filmmaking and the difficulty of remaining faithful to the aspired content in a world pursuing primarily material values."

The conference is being organised by the EFA with Berlin's German Film & Television Academy (dffb) and the European association of film and television academies GEECT with support from the Berlinale Talent Campus, Filmboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the German Federal Film Board (FFA), among others.

Last year's conference on the eve of the Awards in Rome was dedicated to the promotion of film education at schools throughout Europe, while the 2001 event in Berlin focused on the future role of festivals in the international film arena.
