Wolfe Releasing has acquired domestic rights to the feature Pedro, based on a screenplay by Milk Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black about the life of the Real World star and AIDS activist Pedro Zamora, who died aged 22.

Quinceanera film-makers Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland executive produced the film. Nick Oceano directed from Black's screenplay, itself based on a story by Black and Paris Barclay.

The picture premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last autumn and stars Alex Loynaz as Pedro, alongside Justina Machado and Hale Appleman.

Wolfe will handle the DVD release in June and MTV retains broadcast rights and has scheduled the worldwide television premiere for April 1.
