Pieter Kramer's Dutchmusical Yes Nurse! No Nurse! wasthe clear audience favourite at the 18-day San Francisco International Lesbian& Gay Film Festival which finished on Sunday.

It won the audience awardfor best feature at the festival which scored over 82,000 admissions to its 121film screenings. Nancy Kates and Bennett Singer's Brother Outsider:The Life Of Bayard Rustin, the storyof the leader of the gay civil rights movement, won the audience award for bestdocumentary while Butch Mystiquedirected by Debra Wilson won the audience award for best short film.

The juried $10,000Levi's First Feature award was awarded to Kai S Piecki's TheChild I Never Was, the story ofGerman serial killer Jurgen Bartsch. The jury consisted of Jen Chaiken(producer), Steven Jenkins (executive director of San Francisco Cinematheque)and Orly Ravid (independent film consultant).

Stu & Dave'sExcellent Documentary Award, another $10,000 juried award, was shared between HrafnhildurGunnarsdottir & Thorvaldur Kristinsson's Straight Out and Tracy Flannigan's Rise Above: The Tribe8 Documentary. The former looks atlesbian and gay youth in Iceland, the latter at lesbian punk band Tribe 8. Theaward jury was composed of Nancy Fishman (film programmer), Lourdes Portillo(film-maker) and Peter Wells (film-maker).

The festival opened with agala screening of Mark Rucker's Die Mommie Die and closed with a screening of AlexSteyermark's Prey For Rock & Roll starring Gina Gershon.
