CHINA BOX OFFICE: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles retained its lead at the China box office for the week November 3-9, grossing a further $25.17m from 4 million admissions for a cumulative total of $52.12m.

Teddy Chen’s Kung Fu Jungle rose to second position with $8.75m from 1.5 million admissions in its first full week. The Donnie Yen-starring action film opened in fourth position last week and has grossed $16.74m after 10 days on release.

The Maze Runner came in third, grossing $8.03m for a cume of $21.86m; and was followed by Luc Besson’s Lucy, which grossed another $5.98m for a cume of $43.29m.

Two new local releases took fifth and sixth positions in the chart. Gao Xixi’s romantic drama For Love Or Money, starring Liu Yifei and Korean singer Rain, grossed $5.53m in its opening three days. Wang Tao’s suspesne film The Boundary, starring Liu Ye and Vicent Zhao, grossed $4.33m in four days.

Guardians Of The Galaxy came in seventh with a further $1.53m for a cume of $96.47m. It was followed by African Safari with grossed $890,000 in its first three days; China’s Oscar selection The Nightingale with $600,000 (cumulative gross $810,000); and The Haunted Cinema with $480,000 ($1.9m).
