Universal Pictures International has released the first trailer from Working Title, PeaPie Films and 02 Filmes’ adventure directed by Stephen Daldry.

Trash follows three young trash-pickers from the Rio slums whose lives change forever after they discover a wallet amid the detritus.

Rooney Mara, Wagner Moura, Martin Sheen, Rickson Tevez, Luis Eduardo, Gabriel Weinstein and Selton Mello star.

Universal Pictures International will release Trash outside North America. The film kicks off in Brazil on October 9.

Richard Curtis adapted the screenplay from the book by Andy Mulligan. Tim Bevin, Eric Fellner and Kris Thykier produce.
