The North American release of the twenty-fifth James Bond film has been pushed from February 14, 2020 to April 8, 2020, putting the spy adventure into box office action on the Wednesday before the Easter weekend.

The change was announced on Friday (15) by MGM and Annapurna, whose new joint venture United Artists Releasing will distribute the film, still going by its Bond 25 working title, theatrically in the US. Universal will handle the international theatrical roll-out.

Set to begin shooting on March 4 at Pinewood Studios, Bond 25 will star Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as 007, with Cari Joji Fukunaga directing. The film’s release was originally set for October 25 of this year in the UK, but pushed to 2020 last year.

Meanwhile Universal Pictures has announced that it is moving the North American release of the ninth chapter in the Fast & Furious franchise from April 10, 2020 to May 22, 2020.

In another release date announcement, Warner Bros said this week that Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune will be released domestically on November 20, 2020.
