By Thursday Fox International reported that the Liam Neeson thriller had amassed more than $74.9m. Meanwhile Endgame Entertainment’s Looper will soar past $50m this weekend.

Taken 2 lands in Italy, India, South Africa and New Zealand and is expected to extend its international rule to a second weekend. Ice Age 4 stands at $703.3m while Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has reached $70.1m.

Endgame Entertainment’s Looper has amassed more than $46m internationally, mostly through FilmNation’s network of licensees.

The film has already grossed more than $17m in China through Chinese distributor and co-producer DMG Entertainment and arrives in a further 14 markets including Mexico, Argentina, South Korea and Taiwan.

Meanwhile Resident Evil: Retribution has taken more than $164m, of which $150.5m comes from Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) markets. SPRI’s Hotel Transylvania checks into the UK and has grossed $34.9m. Total Recall opens in Italy and Italian-speaking Switzerland. Sony’s Kevin James comedy Here Comes The Boom opens day-and-date with North American in the Caribbean.

Warner Bros Pictures International will stagger the release of Ben Affleck’s Oscar frontrunner Argo. The thriller opens in North American this weekend but the first international launch is not until Oct 25 in Australia. The Dark Knight Rises has reached $632m.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International reported that Finding Nemo 3D opens in Brazil and has grossed $12m internationally. Frankenweenie arrives in South Korea, Mexico, Russia and Spain while Tinker Bell Secret Of Wings on $16.4m opens in France.        

Universal Pictures International’s R-rated smash Ted stands at $237.6m and The Bourne Legacy has reached $114.1m.

DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3 has grossed $454.9m through Paramount Pictures International.
