Sony Pictures Releasing International will unleash Men In Black 3 this weekend in more than 90 territories day-and-date with North America in a launch that is expected to end the rule of The Avengers.

The film opens in China alongside the majority of the key markets. Japan will follow later in the year.

As of May 20 Pirates! Band Of Misfits had grossed $77.4m through Sony internationally, while 21 Jump Street stood at $52.2m and The Vow $64.3m of which $59.5m comes from Sony territories.

The Avengers has amassed an astonishing $723m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International and approximately $1.2bn worldwide. More will come this weekend as it heads towards the $775m international mark.

Fox opens The Yellow Sea in Germany. Titanic 3D stands at $285.6m while This Means War has grossed $99.2m.

UPI opens Cannes festival opener Moonrise Kingdom in the UK. Universal’s action hit Battleship stands at $210.6m.

Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games stands at $246.9m internationally and $638.5m worldwide and Cabin In The Woods has reached $19.1m internationally and $59.6m worldwide. What To Expect When You’re Expecting has grossed an early $1.3m internationally.
