The Amazing Spider-Man has raced to $247.5m in less than two weeks and Sony Pictures Releasing International top brass will look to hold on to their top berth in the face of a stiff challenge from Fox International’s Ice Age 4.

The superhero reboot added a further $15.9m through the end of Wednesday (11) and stands at $26.9m in South Korea, $23.2m in Japan, $22.3m in the UK and $14.2m in Russia.

Elsewhere it has spun $13.4m in Mexico, $11.2m in Brazil, $10.9m in Germany, $10.8m in France, $10.3m in Australia and $5.7m in Spain.

Fox International’s Ice Age: Continental Drift has amassed $212m and lands in approximately 18 territories this weekend including the UK, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan.

Prometheus stands at $172.9m while Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has grossed $25.9m and arrives in India and Sweden. Chariots Of Fire opens in the UK. Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has grossed $85.2m and opens in South Korea.

Snow White And The Huntsman has amassed $208.9m through Universal Pictures International in most territories and Toho-Towa in Japan while Ted has grossed at an early $20.9m.

Paramount Pictures International’s The Dictator on $94.1m arrives in Spain and Thailand while DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3 stands at $265m.

Dark Shadows stands at $158m through Warner Bros Pictures International while New Line’s Rock Of Ages on $13m arrives in France.

Pixar’s Brave opens in Argentina, Chile and Israel through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International and has grossed an early $40m. The latest number for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers is $843.5m.
