“It’s very rewarding to see that Swedish executives and talent are once again coming out for Way Out West, making it one of the most important meeting places, both creatively and business-wise, for the industry”, says Svante Tidholm, Head of Programming for Way Out West

“We’ve previously hosted the Nordic premiere of Searching for Sugarman, which went on to take the festival and awards seasons with storm and win the Oscar, and the world premieres of two installments of the Easy Money trilogy, which are two of the most internationally successful Swedish films ever,” Tidholm said. “This year’s line-up is even more interesting, lead by the Swedish premiere of Ruben Östlund’s Force Majeure, the Nordic premiere of Richard Linklater’s Boyhood and the world premiere of Alexandra Dahlström’s All We Have Is Now.”

Films are screened at an outdoor cinema on the festival site as well as five cinemas in Gothenberg.
