Way Out West to host world premiere of All We Have Is Now

Way Out West, the music and film event in Gothenberg, Sweden that runs Aug 7-9, will host the world premiere of Alexandra Dahlstrom’s All We Have Is Now [pictured], about the band Vulkano. Dahlstrom is a Swedish actress who makes her feature directorial debut.

Other world premieres at Way Out West will be Liza Morberg’s coming of age story Alone Together, about a group of friends on their way to the music festival; Klas Sivertson’s 7 Stripes; and Mia Thermænius’ The Group And The Gentlemen!.

The festival will also offer a gala screening of Ruben Ostlund’s Cannes hit Force Majeure (aka Turist) [a Nordic premiere], plus the Nordic premiere of Richard Linklater’s Boyhood. Other titles include Goran Hugo Olsson’s Concerning Violence.

IIn addition to the musical offerings of Motörhead, Outkast, Robyn & Röyksopp, Queens of the Stone Age, Janelle Monae, Neneh Cherry, Future andThe National, the film programme includes a number of music-related films including Nick Cave documentary 20,000 Days on Earth, The National documentary Mistaken For Strangers, Jimi Hendrix story Jimi: All Is By My Side and Alex Gibney’s Finding Fela.

The festival will also take advantage of the boom in Scandinavian TV by screening new TV series Viva Hate, directed by Jens Lien.

“We’ve previously hosted the Nordic premiere of Searching for Sugarman, which went on to take the festival and awards seasons with storm and win the Oscar, and the world premieres of two installments of the Easy Money trilogy, which are two of the most internationally successful Swedish films ever,” Tidholm said. “This year’s line-up is even more interesting, lead by the Swedish premiere of Ruben Östlund’s Force Majeure, the Nordic premiere of Richard Linklater’s Boyhood and the world premiere of Alexandra Dahlström’s All We Have Is Now.”

Films are screened at an outdoor cinema on the festival site as well as five cinemas in Gothenberg.
