The Montreal World Film Festival will pay tribute to Pierre Lebeau during the 33rd edition of the festival, which runs August 27-September 7.

“Pierre Lebeau is an exceptional actor whose career has has left a profound mark on contemporary Quebec culture,” said WFF President Serge Losique, “and I and very proud to honour him with the Festival’s highest award, the Grand Prize of the Americas.”

Quebec-born Lebeau is known for films including Seraphin, un homme et son peche; Bon Cop Bad Cop; and Les Boys; plus theatre work and TV shows including Fortier.

The Montreal World Film Festival will also show his latest film, Roger Cantin’s Un Cargo pour l’Afrique, which will have its world premire in MWFF World Competition.
