Inferno chiefs Bill Johnson and Jim Siebel have taken more than $30m in multiple territory sales on key AFM titles Arabian Nights, The Killer Elite and The Kids Are All Right.

Rights to Arabian Nights, a 3D retelling of the classic adventure to be directed by Chuck Russell, have gone to Concorde/Telemuenchen (Germany), TF1 (France), Rai (Italy), Hoyts (Australia), Dea Planeta (Spain), MGN/Paradise (CIS) and Unikorea (South Korea).

Further deals closed with Nu Metro (South Africa), Pioneer (The Philippines), Mongkol (Thailand), Filmopolis (Greece), Swen (Latin America), R-Film (Turkey), Myndform (Iceland) and Ablo (Eastern Europe). Inferno is in advanced discussions with UK buyers.

The Killer Elite will be directed by Gary McKendry and is based on Ranulph Fiennes’ novel The Feather Men, about a vigilante unit that tracks down a group of contract killers assassinating former British soldiers. Dea Planeta acquired rights for Spain and Filmopolis took Greece.

Lisa Cholodenko’s dysfunctional family comedy The Kids Are All Right is in post-production and went to Hopscotch in Australia, UGC for France, Swen for Latin America, and Seven Films for Greece.

“We had a very strong market and we’re very happy that the buyers have supported us and our product,” Johnson said.
