Sony Pictures Classics’ executive vice-president of acquisitions and production Dylan Leiner has extended his contract by three years.

This follows the recent news that company heads Michael Barker and Tom Bernard had extended their tenure.

Over the course of 15 years at the company Leiner has become a highly regarded face in the industry and global festival circuit, where he works closely with Sony Pictures Classics’ international network of
producer and buyer associates.

“As a team we’ve been around for a long time,” Leiner says of his close collaboration with Barker and Bernard. “Cannes is like final exams for us. It’s the ultimate show because we see everybody we deal with year-round and handle the demands of a huge festival and a robust market.”

New York-based Leiner heads a team of five and also oversees all post-production, delivery, contract administration, business affairs, and materials through to release on DVD. He joined the company in 1994.
