The 15th London Turkish Film Festival (LTFF) is offering a digital distribution contract to the winner of its promising feature film prize.

The festival is seeking new Turkish features and co-productions to compete for the award and film-makers have until September 25 to send their projects in.

The organisers will then pick ten films to go before a jury of five juges, which will be made up of  City Screen senior programmer Jo Blair, Empire journalist David Parkinson, Curzon Cinemas director of programming Jason Wood and Turkish actor Hulya Kocyigit. The fifth member will be confirmed shortly.

The winner will be decided before October 20 and announced during the festival’s opening gala at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on November 5.

Festival director Vedide Kaymak expects the winning project to be released to audiences in the UK and Ireland by the summer of 2010.

The LTFF will take place from November 5 to November 19. Showings will be spread across two London venues: the Apollo Cinema in Piccadilly Circus and Rio Cinema in Dalston.

More than 8,000 people are expected to attend 60 screenings made up of shorts, feature films and documentaries. The line-up will be announced on the festival’s website by October 1.
