Nancy Florence Savard directed The Legend Of Sarila and Cinema Management Group head Edward Noeltner plans to show a trailer of the 3D family adventure.

The story follows three young Inuits as they embark on a journey to save their clan from a scheming shaman. The voice cast features Christopher Plummer, singer Elisapie Isaac and Rachelle Lefevre.

CMG has licensed rights to Front Row for the Middle East, Associated Euromedia for Turkey, Talent Epitome for China and Jonon Source for Mongolia.

The Legend Of Sarila is produced by Savard of 10th Ave Productions and CarpeDiem’s production team comprising Marie-Claude Beauchamp, Paul Risacher and Normand Thauvette.

Pierre Tremblay and Roger Harvey wrote the screenplay and production was completed at Modus FX studios, which has done special effects work on such titles as The Avengers, Mirror Mirror, and Source Code.

Bayard Canada will publish two books based on The Legend Of Sarila, one a picture book and the other a novel targeted at younger readers. The books will come out on Jan 21 2013 ahead of the theatrical release in Canada through Alliance.

The novels will be published in French and talks are underway to release them in French-speaking Europe. The publisher is also preparing to distribute in schools with an accompanying study guide and an e-book will be released through iTunes for iOS and Android devices.

“The publishing deals will increase the visibility of The Legend Of Sarila in Canada and across French-speaking territories,” said Noeltner (pictured). “Along with the sales we’ve made to date, this publishing deal will give us a great momentum as we head to AFM.

“Our CMG sales team is really excited to unveil some of the new materials including print, trailer and new footage for buyers at AFM and we are thrilled to be part of this amazing family film.”
