Greer will oversee domestic theatrical publicity and promotional campaigns and reports to president of marketing Christine Birch.

Prior to FilmDistrict Greer most recently served as evp of publicity and promotion at New Line where she worked among others on campaigns for The Lord Of The Rings franchise, Sex And The City, The Notebook and Elf.

She also worked as an independent publicity consultant on such projects as Bully, Me And Orson Welles and Precious.

The hiring of Greer completes the senior executive team working under Birch. Last month Birch swelled the ranks when she hired Tracy Pollard as svp of creative advertising, Brad Goldberg as svp of media and Anna Baxter as svp of digital marketing.

FilmDistrict is preparing for the Sept 28 release of sci-fi Looper with Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Emily Blunt. The Red Dawn remake starring Chris Hemsworth opens on Nov 21 and rom-com Playing The Field arrives on Dec 7.

2013 releases include Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez in Parker on Jan 25 and the pre-Cannes market acquisition Dead Man Down with Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper on Apr 5.
