International preview: Warner Bros Pictures International’s fantasy action sequel Wrath Of The Titans will aim to seize the initiative this weekend from Lionsgate’s global smash The Hunger Games

Wrath is set to open day-and-date with North America in 60 territories on approximately 13,900 screens. Every major market will open except Japan, which as is customary will follow later.

Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games stood at $59.3m by the end of its $210m-plus worldwide launch weekend and studio top brass except solid holdover business plus a strong launch in Venezuela.

UPI’s Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax begins its international roll-out proper and arrives this weekend in around 18 territories including Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Argentina and Taiwan. Prime Time Soap opens in Brazil.

Fox International’s Best Exotic Marigold Hotel stands at $33.6m and arrives this weekend in Italy and Belgium. What’s Your Number? opens in Germany. Chronicle stands at $56.2m, The Descendants $89.1m and We Bought A Zoo $30.8m.

Sony Pictures Releasing International opens Aardman’s animated title The Pirates! Band Of Misfits in around 12 including the UK, France and Germany in what is expected to be a strong maiden voyage.

Sony announced on Thursday evening that Jack And Jill has become Adam Sandler’s biggest hit in Brazil, where it has amassed 19.8m Reals and drawn more than two million admissions since it opened on Feb 10.
