IMAX Corporation is to expand its partnership with Cineworld Group PLC to cover a further 11 IMAX theatres.
Cineworld will add eight IMAX theatres to existing and new Cineworld multiplexes in the UK and three to its Cinema City circuit in Central Europe and Israel.
The deal brings to 35 the number of Imax theatres operating in Cineworld sites, making it Imax’s largest partner in Europe.
Cineworld Group PLC operates under the brands of Cineworld, Picturehouse, Cinema City and Yes Planet.
The combination of Cineworld and Cinema City International was completed in February, resulting in the second largest cinema chain in Europe.
