EXCLUSIVE: Creativity Media subsidiary gets £2m facility from Schneider Media Investments.
Fledgling financier Creativity Capital, a subsidiary of post-production outfit Creativity Media, has secured a £2m revolving credit facility with London-based financier Schneider Media Investments (SMI).
Creativity Capital, launched in spring 2013 and run by managing director Patrick Fischer, investment director Richard Kondal and investment executives Adam Lewin and Arjun Rose, provides loan finance and consultancy on film and TV projects.
As part of the deal SMI has acquired a minority stake in post specialist Creativity Media and SMI’s Sonny Schneider joins the Creativity Media board of directors.
The deal was negotiated by Creative Media co-founders Fischer and Kondal with Rose and Schneider.
Creativity Media has provided post-production services to twenty-two films including The Anomaly, Get Lucky and The Hooligan Factory for Universal; Fast Girls for Studiocanal; Plastic for Paramount; Tower Block and I Am Soldier for Lionsgate; and Anuvahood and Sket for Revolver Entertainment, as well as TV programmes Playhouse Presents for Sky and The Class of ‘92 for the BBC.
The company has also provided loan finance and has invested in six films to date, including The List, Tower Block and Anuvahood.
Both Creativity Media and Creativity Capital are headquartered at the Hospital Club in Covent Garden. The new finance outfit will be at next week’s Production Finance Market in London.
Financier Schneider Media Investments was created in 2013 by producer and former director Arjun Rose and city entrepreneur Sonny Schneider.
Fischer explained the deal: “We have worked hard to establish a profitable, scalable film investment business and with SMI’s support we look forward to serving the UK and international production sector with an expanded finance and post-production offering.”
SMI’s director Rose said: “With this deal SMI is delighted to bring together world-class creative expertise and knowledgeable financing to help realise the full potential of the many superb film-makers out there.”
SMI’s Schneider added: “This partnership will enable Creativity Capital to greatly expand its offering to the film sector. We believe that bringing together our financial and creative skills with the leading independent post-production and film finance company means that Creativity Media and SMI are together going to become a leading light in the film post-production and film finance fields.”
