Love, Death & Robots

Netflix on Monday (7) announced its first anthology animated series Love, Death & Robots presented by Deadpool director Tim Miller and David Fincher.

The show’s genre will vary from episode to episode covering sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and comedy. Episodes of the mature cartoon will range from five to 15 minutes and will use animation styles from 2D to 3D CGI.

Netflix said there will be 18 stories in total featuring sentient dairy products, werewolf soldiers and alien spiders. It had not announced a premiere date at time of writing.

Miller, Fincher, Jennifer Miller, and Josh Donen are the executive producers on Love, Death & Robots, and Miller’s animation production company Blur Studios served as lead producer.

Love, Death & Robots is my dream project,” said Miller. “It combines my love of animation and amazing stories. Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part.

“I’m so fucking excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation.”
