‘A Quiet Place Part II’

Paramount has moved A Quiet Place Part II from April 23 to September 17 this year in the latest significant schedule change as the pandemic continues to cloud the horizon.

John Krasinski’s horror thriller stars Emily Blunt and is the follow-up to the $341m-grossing 2018 original.

The film was originally scheduled to open in March 2020 when the lockdown began and threw the release calendar into disarray.

The development on Friday evening (January 22) followed news earlier in the day that Disney had pushed Matthew Vaughn’s 20 Century Studios action adventure The King’s Man from March 12 to August 20.

The studio also changed the schedule with regard to two 20th Century Studios animated features.

Bobs Burger’s, previously set for April 9, has been removed from the calendar, while Ron’s Gone Wrong has been pushed from April 23 to October 22.

Searchlight Pictures’ Antlers, The Night House, The Eyes Of Tammy Faye, and Nightmare Alley were confirmed for dates announced on Thursday.

At time of writing there was no mention of Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, which remains set for May 7.

MGM triggered a domino effect of schedule changes on Thursday when it moved No Time To Die into autumn. A wave of calendar switches from Universal and Sony followed.
