The distributor is eyeing a 2012 release for Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel by Lisa Immordino Vreeland, the wife of late icon’s grandson

The documentary profiles the influential former Harper’s Bazaar fashion editor and Vogue editor-in-chief who launched the career of Twiggy and advised Jackie O.

Immordino Vreeland’s co-directors were Bent-Jorgen Perlmutt and Frederic Tcheng, both of whom edited Valentino: The Last Emperor. Gloss Studio, Jonathan Gray and Mark Lee served as executive producers.

“Our team fell in love with this film and we had to have it,” Samuel Goldwyn Jr said. “Lisa has done a remarkable job capturing Mrs Vreeland’s unique voice and magical life allowing Vreeland herself to guide us through her own fashionating adventures.”

“I am so happy to have Samuel Goldwyn Films distribute the film,” Immordino Vreeland said. “They are steeped in tradition and truly understand Mrs Vreeland’s world.”

Goldwyn’s head of acquisitions Peter Goldwyn and vp of business development and general counsel Ian Puente brokered the deal with Submarine’s Josh Braun and David Koh on behalf of the filmmaker.
