Anchor Bay Films has acquired all rights to Mactavish Pictures’ MURPH: The Protector.
The feature-length documentary is based on the life of the late Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who died in action in 2005 and was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal Of Honor in 2007.
Scott Mactavish wrote and directed the film.
Tom Tykwer’s German thriller was a breakout for the director and his star star Franka Potente.
Total LA-based production shoot days were down 8.7% in Q1.
“Our real value add now is in terms of international sales,” revealed Oli Harbottle of Dogwoof.
