The Film Sales Company president Andrew Herwitz has acquired sales rights to three documentaries ahead of their premieres at IDFA in Amsterdam this week.
The first is iThemba directed and produced Elinor Burkett. It explores the lives of a group of musicians living in Zimbabwe who overcome unimaginable obstacles to make music filled with joy and exuberance.
The second is The Harvest, Robin Romano’s film produced by Shine Global that examines the plight of the children of migrant field workers in the US without the protection of child labour laws.
Jeff Prosserman’s Foxhounds: The Pursuit Of Bernie Madoff relates the story of a group of amateur detectives who cried foul over the fraudster’s criminal activities a decade before he turned himself in. The Film Sales Company represents US rights and eOne Films International is handling foreign sales.
Herwitz also is representing Miranda Bailey’s comedy Greenlit in which the actress examines the environmental toll of film productions. The film will receive its European premiere at IDFA.
The 23rd International Documentary Film Festival runs from November 17-28.
