UK outfit acquires drama written by and starring Ashley Chin and Michael Maris.

UK outfit Kaleidoscope Entertainment has picked up London-set thriller Victim for local distribution and international sales.

Written by and starring Ashley Chin and Michael Maris (both Sket and Anuvahood), Victim is the story of a young man’s attempts to break out of a cycle of violence. Alex Pillai directs the debut production of Pure Films, headed up by music producer Danny Donnelly.

Adam Deacon (Kidulthood, Adulthood), Frank Harper (Football Factory), Jason Maza (Fish Tank), Ashley Madekwe (Secret Diary of a Call Girl), David Harewood (Blood Diamond), Letitia Wright (Top Boy) and Shanika Warren-Markland (4,3,2,1, Adulthood) co-star.

Scheduled for a spring 2012 theatrical in the UK, Kaleidoscope will be screening the drama at next month’s EFM.

The film’s soundtrack features tracks from urban acts Giggs, Ghostface Killah, Maverick Sabre, Clare Maguire, Ghetts, Josh Osho, Nu Brand Flex, Danny Weed and Ayak.
