Deals were struck with Memento, Huayi Brothers, and Beta Film.

The UK’s Metrodome Distribution has acquired three new titles for theatrical release at Cannes market. They are Aftershock, The Monk and My Best Enemy.

The Monk, bought from Memento, is a gothic horror directed by Dominik Moll starring Vincent Cassell, Sergi Lopez and Geraldine Chapline.

The $25m earthquake epic Aftershock was acquired from Huayi Brothers.

Beta Film handled the sale of WWII thriller My Best Enemy starring Moritz Bleibtreu. 

The company also picked up titles for home entertainment including Caught In The Crossfire (from Fabrication Films) starring 50 Cent.

All deals were negotiated for Metrodome by CEO Mark Webster, Head of Acquisitions and Production James Brown, Acquisitions Manager Giles Edwards and Business Affairs Kate Edwards.

Webster said: “Metrodome continues to build on its reputation as one of the most respected independent all-rights distributors in the UK. With this in mind, we are very pleased with the acquisitions concluded during Cannes.”

As previously reported, Metrodome is undergoing a restructuring of its theatrical release business. Peter Urie, Sara Frain and Christelle Randall recently left the company.
