The North American deal on Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris marks SPC’s fourth collaboration with the film-maker after You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Sweet And Lowdown and Whatever Works.

Meanwhile SPC and CAA had not commented on a rumour doing the rounds in acquisition circles that the distributor had made a preemptive move on Morgan Spurlock’s upcoming Sundance world premiere The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.

Midnight In Paris was Allen’s first to shoot in Paris and is backed by Mediapro, the Spanish company that also financed Vicky Christina Barcelona and You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.

Kathy Bates stars with Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and Owen Wilson and is produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum, and Jaume Roures.

The story follows a family on an eye-opening business trip to the French capital.
