Jeff Nichols’ Cannes and Sundance hit gets UK distribution ahead of UK premiere.

The Works UK Distribution has taken all UK rights to Jeff Nichols’ thriller Take Shelter, starring Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain.

A release date has been set for Nov 25.

Shannon plays a young husband and father plagued by apocalyptic visions in the film which won the 2011 Critics Week Grand Prize and 2011 SACD Award in Cannes, Best Film at the Zurich Film Festival and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.

The film gets its UK premiere on Friday at the BFI London Film Festival.
