German distributor Tiberius Film has acquired German distribution rights to Ryan Gosling’s feature directorial debut How To Catch A Monster, sold by Nick Meyer’s Sierra/Affinity.

Tiberius also released Gosling-starrer Only God Forgives earlier this year.

The thriller is set in a vanishing city where a single mother is drawn into a dark underworld, while her son discovers a secret underwater town.

Starring Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes and Matt Smith, the film is now in post for delivery in early 2014.

Marc Platt and Adam Siegel produce on behalf of Marc Platt Productions, along with Gosling via his Phantasma Films banner, and Michel Litvak and David Lancaster via Bold Films.

Tiberius has also announced, just ahead of the AFM, that it has taken on Angelique sold by EuropaCorp.

Ariel Zeitoun’s period romantic drama stars Nora Arnezeder, Gérard Lanvin, Tomer Sisley and David Kross.

Tiberius MD Wolfgang Carl said: “Angelique is a timeless and suspenseful historical drama with an unforgettable heroine.

“After Only God Forgives we are proud to be releasing another fascinating Ryan Gosling project. His star-studded directing debut is going to thrill and surprise his fans all over the world.”
