uMedia’s Belgian distribution arm uDream pacts with Dutch distributor; A Monster in Paris first collaboration.

uMedia’s Belgian distribution arm uDream has struck a deal with Dutch distributor A-Film to distribute uDream titles theatrically and for home entertainment across the Netherlands.

The first theatrical release under the partnership will be Bibo Bergeron’s animated feature A Monster in Paris starring the voices of Vanessa Paradis and Mathieu Chédid. A June release is set.

This will be followed in July by Florent Emilio Siri’s My Way, the biopic starring Jérémie Renier in the role of popular French singer Claude Francois. Future theatrical releases will include action thriller The Expatriate, starring Aaron Eckhart and Olga Kurylenko, which was shot in Belgium and co-produced by uMedia.

The first home entertainment release under the new partnership took place in January with Fred Cavayé’s French action thriller Point Blank starring Gilles Lellouche and Gérard Lanvin.

“Our collaboration with A-Film offers us the best possible partner to release our titles in the Netherlands. Their proven track record across all genres - both commercial and specialised - is due to their versatility that fits perfectly with our strategy and our catalogue,” said uMedia’s Adrian Politowski.

A-Film’s director of acquisitions Erik Engelen added: “This new partnership between A-Film and uDream creates great new opportunities for us both in Belgium and the Netherlands and will reach an even broader audience. We are very much looking forward to working with such an inventive company as uDream and we’re certain this partnership will benefit us both.”
