24 frames has acquired all North American rights to the Mexican heist hit Sultans Of The South (Sultanes Del Sur) from Warner Brothers Pictures Mexico.

The Lemon Films production in association with Filmax Entertainment will open nationwide in US theatres starting in July.

Director Alejandro Lozano and producers Fernando and Billy Rovzar, the team behind Matando Cabos and KM31, reunite on the tale of a betrayed team of bank robbers.

Ana de la Reguera, Jordi Molla, Toni Dalton and Silverio Palacios star. Dalton wrote the screenplay.

24 Frames president Ludo Cremers called Sultans Of The South “another shining example of the tremendous talent in film making in Mexico”, adding: “We have not yet witnessed a Latin action thriller of this calibre.”
