Benoît Ginisty, Director General of FIAPF, assumes additional role with EAO

Benoît Ginisty, Director General of the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF) was elected Chairman of the European Audiovisual Observatory’s (EAO) Advisory Committee yesterday in an EAO session in Strasbourg.

Ginisty stated: “In the current climate of challenges and opportunities for the audiovisual sector, the industry needs all the business insight it can get. The continuity of the Observatory’s work in producing market intelligence and legal analysis is essential for those working in the film and TV sector today.”

Ginisty praised the work of  Antoine Virenque, the Advisory Committee’s outgoing Chairman and Secretary General of the International Federation of Film Distributors’ Associations.

Wolfgang Closs, Executive Director of the Strasbourg-based Observatory, underlined the importance of the Observatory’s Advisory Committee as a “direct line to the information needs of the audiovisual industries in Europe”.

The advisory body brings together 31 different European organisations representing different sectors of the industry.
