Simon Pegg is currently shooting the comedy A Fantastic Fear Of Everything in London, and Stephen Dillane will star in Papadopoulous & Sons, due to commence production next month.

Simon Pegg is heading up the cast for Crispian Mills’ and Chris Hopewell’s psychological comedy A Fantastic Fear Of Everything, about a children’s author turned crime novelist whose research into the lives of Victorian serial killers turns him into a paranoid wreck. The film also stars Amara Karan, Clare Higgins, Sheridan Smith and Alan Drake.

Mills wrote the screenplay to this $4.9m production, which is being produced by Indomina Releasing and Keel Films, with the former also handling US distribution. Pinewood Films provided financing. Universal Pictures has been appointed as the international sales agent and will also release in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and Germany. 

A widowed Greek businessman attempts to resurrect his family’s business in Marcus Markou’s comedy Papadopoulous & Sons. Written by Markou and produced by Sara Butler for Double M Films, Stephen Dillane stars alongside Georgia Groome, Ed Stoppard, Georges Corraface and Cosima Shaw. The film has a budget of $1.6m and shooting will start on August 8.

In France, Michel Leclerc has started principal photography on his latest feature Télé-gaucho in which an anarchistic and provocative TV channel is set up by a group of friends, resulting in five years of chaos. The drama is based on a script by Leclerc and Thomas Lilti with Eric Elmosnino, Sara Forestier, Emmanuelle Béart, Felix Moatin and Maïwenn starring. France 2 Cinema and 31 Juin Films jointly produce the feature, which received financial backing from Canal + and Ciné+. TF1 International handles international sales and UGC Distribution will release across France.
