The 12th Motovun Film Festival (July 26-30) closed last night with Diego and Daniel Vega’s October (Octubre) winning the main Propeller Award in the international competition.

Special mention went to Michelangelo Framartino’s The Four Times, which also won the FIPRESCI prize.

The opening film, Xavier Giannoli’s In The Beginning, picked up the new Coruption-free Award established in co-operation with Transparency International and sponsored by Siemens.

Chris Niemeyer’s The Balls won the best short film prize.

In the newly established competition for the best film from the territories of former Yugoslavia, the Bauer award went to Zvonimir Juric’s and Goran Devic’s The Blacks from Croatia.

The festival was closed by this year’s recepient of the Motovun Maverick award Terry Jones.
