‘Of An Age’

Focus Features has set a February 10 2023 theatrical release for Of An Age, You Won’t Be  Alone Macedonian-Australian director Goran Stolevski’s follow-up film.

The feature debuted in Australia over the summer as the opening night selection at Melbourne International Film Festival and went on to claim a prize of nearly of nearly $70,000 (AU$100,000) at Australia’s MIFF@CinefestOZ.

Of An Age will open in limited release before expanding nationally on February 17. Focus is distributing in the US with Universal Pictures International handling international distribution excluding Australia.

Stolevski’s sophomore film is set in the summer of 1999 as a 17-year-old Serbian-born Australian amateur ballroom dancer embarks on an intense 24-hour romance with a friend’s older brother. Elias Anton, Thom Green, and Hattie Hook star.

Causeway Films’ Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings produced Of An Age, which received backing from Screen Australia, VicScreen, Melbourne International Film Festival Premiere Fund, Kojo Studios, Bonsai Films, and Head Gear Films.

You Won’t Be Alone premiered at 2022 Sundance Film Festival and went on to win the best feature prize at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and the Carnet Jove Jury Award at Sitges.

The Focus slate includes Todd Field’s heavyweight awards contender TÁR starring Cate Blanchett; James Gray’s Armageddon Time with Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, and Anne Hathaway; and Spoiler Alert from Michael Showalter starring Jim Parsons, Ben Aldridge, and Sally Field.

Coming up in 2023 are Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City; Alexander Payne’s TIFF acquisition The Holdovers; an untitled comedy from Ethan Cohen; Nida Manzoor’s Polite Society; A.V Rockwell’s A Thousand And One; Zelda Williams’ Lisa Frankenstein; Bill Holderman’s Book Club II: The Next Chapter; My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 from Nia Vardalos; Vasilis Katsoupis’s Inside starring Willem Dafoe; and Bobby Farrelly’s Champions, among others.
