Popelka joined the company at its inception in 2008 as evp of strategic planning and creative affairs.

His responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the company’s east and west coast offices, business development and strategic planning, company finances and individual film financing.. He reports to founder and CEO Glen Basner.

Popelka spearheads several projects including Spirit House, based on Christopher G Moore’s Bangkok-based private eye books that Chase Palmer is adapting, and an untitled romantic comedy that Keith Bunin will write.

Prior to FilmNation Popelka was an executive at Samuels Media and before that worked at CAA in the Independent Finance Group and was an entertainment analyst at McKinsey & Company.
