‘Kingslayer’

UK sales agency Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has boarded world sales rights excluding UK-Ireland for Stuart Brennan’s medieval adventure feature Kingslayer.

The completed film will have its market premiere at next month’s online European Film Market, with a first screening on Friday, February 11.

Kingslayer follows a young Richard the Lionheart, before he ascended to become King of England, as he must fight for his life and learn the responsibilities of leadership amidst a treacherous ambush.

The film stars The Hobbit actor Ryan Gage alongside Macbeth’s David Hayman and The Lord Of The Rings’ John Rhys-Davies, with Carolina Carlsson and newcomer Ellie Rose-Mackinlay.

Shot on location in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland in autumn 2020, it was written and directed by Brennan, whose credits as producer include 2010 Howard Winstone boxing biopic Risen.

Brennan also stars in the film, and produced it with Gareth Wiley for UK-US firm Stronghold and the UK’s Phoenix Wiley, with executive producer George T Coubert.

It is a latest foray into the medieval adventure market for Kaleidoscope, which has recently sold Paul Allica’s The Siege Of Robin Hood into more than 25 territories.
