A day after John Wick: Chapter 4 crossed $250m at the global box office, Lionsgate announced it has set a wide June 7 2024 release date for spin-off Ballerina starring Ana De Armas.

The Oscar-nominated actor (Blonde, No Time To Die) plays an assassin out to avenge her family and is trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma, the group that appears in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.

The Ballerina appeared in the third entry in the franchise and was portrayed by Unity Phelan.

John Wick franchise star Keanu Reeves appears in the upcoming Ballerina alongside a cast that includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane,

Underworld franchise director Len Wiseman directs from a screenplay by Shay Hatten, based on characters created by Derek Kolstad

Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and John Wick director Chad Stahelski serve as producers on Ballerina, which is produced by Thunder Road Films and 87eleven production.

Lionsgate motion picture group chair Joe Drake has said he would like to see a fifth instalment in the John Wick series, however there has been no official news on that front.
