London Screenings, the export market dedicated to UK film, has announced its dates and a new venue for the 2019 event.

This year’s market will be held at the Picturehouse Central in Soho for the first time and will take place from June 24-27, 2019.

It is moving from the BFI Southbank, where it had been held for the past 15 years.

Run by Film London, London Screenings brings some 150 international buyers and festival programmers to London to watch around 45 selected titles handled predominantly by UK sales companies.

Applications are also open for the Breakthrough section from now until March 15. The strand will showcase completed features from emerging UK filmmakers seeking sales representation and international festival exposure.

HanWay, Embankment, and Metro International were among the companies which participated in the 2018 London Screenings with titles including Amma Asante’s Where Hands Touch, Winston Azzopardi’s The Boat and Steve Sullivan’s documentary about comedian Frank Sidebottom, Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story.

Last year’s event generated £4.45m ($5.7m) in sales activity.

London Screenings is funded and supported by the BFI, Mayor of London, Film Export UK and the Department for International Trade.
