The £100,000 feature tackles the issue of homelessness and will shoot in Birmingham this May.

Birmingham-based production company 104 Films is gearing up to shoot the first feature in its “Studio Project” scheme, which aims to create a number of low budget feature films made around issues of social disadvantage.

The $160,000 (£100,000) film, about a man who wakes up to find himself homeless, will produced by Alex Usborne and Justin Edgar of 104 Films, who, as part of the production, will bring 30 young people, who have experienced homelessness themselves, on set as part of the mentoring scheme to train them both in front and behind the camera.

Patrick Baladi (The Office, Mistresses), Jo Enright (I’m Alan Partridge) and David Proud (EastEnders) have signed on to star in the film, which will be the feature directorial debut of Steve Rainbow.

104 Films ran the UK Film Council short film scheme for disabled film makers The Magic Hour, as well as co-producing Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll starring Andy Serkis.
