EXCLUSIVE: eOne has taken multiple territories on upcoming action film Northmen – A Viking Saga.
In a pre-emptive bid, eOne has taken rights on upcoming action film Northmen – A Viking Saga in the UK and Ireland, France, Australia and New Zealand, Scandinavia and South Africa from The Salt Company.
Claudio Faeh [pictured] (Sniper Reloaded, Hollow Man 2) will direct the English-language Bulgarian-German co-production, set to shoot in Bulgaria in 2013. Producers are Ralph Dietrich, Karin Dietrich and Daniel Höltschi under Ascot Elite’s Elite Filmproduktion banner.
The chase film follows the bloody struggle between a gang of shipwrecked Viking marauders and band of British mercenaries.
“There just aren’t a lot of quality action films at this level out there,” said Dietrich. “So with our years of experience in acquisition and distribution, we were able to assemble the best team, come up with a great script, and are currently formalising some exciting creative elements.”
The Salt Company boarded the project over the summer. Cast will be announced shortly.
