Hot on the heels of the promising box office debut of End Of Watch, the actor is set to reunite with his An Enemy director Denis Villeneuve.

As previously announced Hugh Jackman plays one of the leads in the thriller as a small-town carpenter on the trail of his kidnapped daughter and her friend. Gyllenhaal will play a hot-shot detective. Aaron Guzikowski wrote the screenplay.

Alcon co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will produce along with 8:38 Productions’ Kira Davis and Madhouse Entertainment’s Adam Kolbrenner. Ed McDonnell and John Stark will serve as executive producers.

Production is scheduled to begin in early 2013. Alcon is targeting an autumn 2013 release through its output deal with Warner Bros.

Gyllenhaal just wrapped An Enemy and prepares to make his US stage debut later this month in the off-Broadway play If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet. He is represented by WME
