Keisha Castle-Hughes is to star in Greener Grass, a feature adaptation of Hagen Engler’s novel set in post apartheid South Africa.

The New Zealand actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the 2002 drama Whale Rider, described the feature as a project “I have been looking for for years.”

Zaheer Goodman-Bhyat is directing and producing the film, which is due to start shooting late 2011, for South African based production company Light & Dark Films.
