The Los Angeles-based company will represent all rights to the sci-fi thriller at the Cannes market.

Little Studio Films will co-produce with filmmaker client AJ Ferrara’s company Magic City Pictures.

Invasion is allegedly based on true events surrounding a reporter’s investigation into a possible UFO conspiracy in Washington DC. Casting is underway ahead of the start of production later this year.

“Its tone and style are reminiscent of Mad Men and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind but with a strong, unique female lead,” Little Studio Films partner Alexia Melocchi, who runs the company with Alexandra Yacovlef, said.

Garris is a longtime Stephen King collaborator and directed the prolific author’s Sleepwalker in 1992 and more recently Bag Of Bones for A&E. He is represented by Paradigm and Echo Lake.

Little Studio Films will present the project at the LA Screenings and recently completed production on Stealing Roses starring John Heard. The company is represented by Loeb and Loeb.
