The Locations trade show has been set for June 15-16, marking the fist time that it will run concurrently with the opening weekend of the Los Angeles Film Festival.
The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) has set this year’s Locations Show for June 15-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, marking the fist time that the trade show will run concurrently with the opening weekend of the Los Angeles Film Festival.
Bringing together hundreds of film commissioners from all over the world and featuring conference sessions, panel discussions, mentoring roundtables, networking opportunities, social events and workshops, Locations will also be having its first run at a its new downtown venue. The Los Angeles Film Festival, which runs June 14-24, is centered around the nearby LA Live complex.
“Film commissions are not just about locations,” said AFCI executive director, Martin Cuff. “Today, they are the first point of contact for information on the kinds of free support and financial incentives that can help move projects into production as well as information on film festivals, distribution opportunities and film tourism.
“Our annual trade show offers a unique chance to meet with these film commissions who collectively provide over $2.5bn in annual funding. We’re very excited about our move downtown, which will create a true international village at the Los Angeles Film Festival.”
