The film is being sold worldwide by Content.
Caity Lotz and Toby Stephens are to play the leads in sci-fi action thriller The Machine, directed by Caradog James. Lotz is currently creating a stir as a star of The Pact (also being sold by Content) and she also appeared in Mad Men.
The film, which is set in the near future and sees the Ministry of Defence developing a robotic soldier, is produced by John Giwa-Amu from Red and Black Films. Content’s Jamie Carmichael is Executive Producer.
Shooting is due to begin on July 23 in Cardiff, Wales, UK.
The film has received backing from The Film Agency for Wales, Ruby Moon Ltd, Graham Associates, The Ideas Factory and the Welsh Assembly Government.
