Production has begun in Calgary on the comedy Tucker And Dale Vs Evil starring Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk.

Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures is handling foreign sales and Sony UK has pre-bought UK rights and Andre Boissier’s Revolutionary Media has acquired rights for Eastern Europe.

The genre-bending film centres on a pair of benign hillbillies who are mistakenly accused of being psychopathic killers by a group of college student on camping holiday. Katrina Bowen also stars.

Eli Craig is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Morgan Jurgenson. Craig made the acclaimed short film The Tao Of Pong and is represented by CAA.

Labine will next be seen in the Fox series Sons Of Tucson, while Tudyk is a regular on the series Dollhouse and his feature credits include Knocked Up and Serenity.

The Eden Rock Media, Kintop/Reliance, Urban Island and Looby Lou project is produced by Deepak Nayar, Morgan Jurgenson, Albert Klychak and Rosanne Milliken. Thomas Augsberger and Mark Ryan are executive producers.
